The Ontario Women’s Hockey Association’s (OWHA’s) Return to Hockey Framework will ensure the OWHA, which governs the Frontenac Fury Girls’ Hockey Association, opens in a safe way, aligned with public health and government guidance.

Currently, the OWHA is operating within Step Three of the Ontario Government Roadmap to Reopen. This step allows the return and expansion of indoor settings and capacity limits and includes recreational ice hockey (indoors). Several COVID-19 safety protocols from last season will remain including:

  • pre-screening for symptoms of COVID-19

  • sign in/contact tracing upon arrival to arena

  • hand cleaning upon arrival and where appropriate

  • face coverings (not required when wearing helmets and on the ice)

  • physical distancing wherever possible

  • dedicated entrances/exits

New requirements for the 2021-2022 season include:

The Frontenac Fury’s COVID-19 Committee is comprised of the Frontenac Fury Girls’ Hockey Association Executive. Each Frontenac Fury Team will also have at least one COVID Team member who is responsible for helping to screen and sign in players and parents/guardians/caregivers for contact tracing purposes.

At any time, the Frontenac Fury may need to modify, restrict, postpone or cancel hockey activities based on the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, and/or public health, municipal/provincial government or sport modifications/restrictions or cancellations.

The Frontenac Fury is committed to the health, safety and well-being of all players, bench staff, volunteers and families. We will continue to work hard to provide a program that is fun and engaging while adhering to new safety protocols to keep everyone safe.
